Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the current status and issues of job assistance in rehabilitation
from the perspective of the field of practice. A questionnaire survey was conducted on all 25 organizations that
were entrusted with job assistance project for offenders rehabilitation in FY2022. Based on the analysis results, the results of this project are as follows: (1) the commissioned organizations have strengthened cooperation with support organizations in rehabilitation, (2)the commissioned organizations have acquired know-how in employment support and stabilized their financial base, (3)the staff feel that the program is linked to prevention of recidivism and improvement of rehabilitation, (4) the staff felt that a system of cooperation within the commissioning organization and with the probation office was effective in alleviating work difficulties. Additionally, there are two issues: (1)the staff felt the same difficulties as probation officers, (2)the staff sometimes had difficulty following up with cooperating employers even after the support period ended. This study clarified some of the current status and issues of job assistance in rehabilitation based on an awareness survey of staff of commissioned organizations.
