Abstract
In order to obtain the fundamental data for the examination of the construction of the model of health and welfare services for the aged according to the characteristics of each municipality and for the examination of its evaluation method, the current status of health and welfare services for the aged by each municipality within Okayama Prefecture was analyzed in connection with the population, based on their values per hundred of population of 65 years and over. As a result of this analysis, it was observed that, in municipalities with a small population, health and welfare services at home where the preparation of facilities are not necessary were well provided; on the contrary, as to the services at home and those given in the facilities which have a close relation to the preparation of facilities, it was observed that there was a difficulty in securing the service supplying system. Furthermore, regarding many types of health and welfare services, it was also indicated that there were great differences in the amount of services per hundred of population of 65 years and over, among municipalities with a small population. In addition, as a result of the multiple regression analysis, it was clarified that the visiting guidance and the home help had a close relation to the number of public health nurses of each municipality. The establishment of the method for evaluating health and welfare services for the aged will become an important key for the improvement and expansion of such services in municipalities in future.
