Commentary: Introducing University Research Administrator Careers to Japan

Abstract

University Research Administrator (URA) is a new career field that was introduced into some institutions, mainly universities, since 2011. In this report, the function, role, outcome, and effect of URAs are explained and evaluated. Based on these evaluations, a future prospective will be discussed after consideration of current problems, including quality assurance for Japanese URAs.
