Abstract
Japan's current university educational system is reproved for its needs to switch from the conventional approach of simultaneously lecturing lessons to a proactive learning of learners. The introduction of active learning and out-of-the-classroom learning is sought. Moreover, the design is something that beyond the character demands a wide range of techniques and some knowledge of all areas. It is a field that cannot fit into the educational curriculum of the university. Accordingly, we propose in this paper a platform that provides a forum for creative learning through the practice of design work outside the university educational curriculum and we carried out three educational programs during the year 2014. The implemented programs each permitted the acquisition of effective design skills and knowledge in a short period of time. From these results, we report on the usefulness of a creative learning platform in the context of the skill acquisition allowed by the practice of design.
