Female College Student Awareness for Use of Rubrics in Programming Class

This study was conducted to deepen understanding of female college students' awareness of rubrics for assignments in a programming class. We conducted a questionnaire survey during the 2018-2022 academic years of female college students using rubrics for a programming class in a rural region in Japan. Responses were received from 79 respondents. Many students used rubrics when creating their assignments and when confirming an assignment’s grading criteria. These findings indicate that teachers might need to provide students with assignments using rubrics.
