Current Status of Contactless Power Transmission Technology

Abstract

Contactless power transmission is a system that relies on a variety of elemental technologies. It is called contactless power supply (charging), wireless power transmission, wireless power supply (charging), wireless power transfer, and various other names, and shortened to WPT (wireless power transfer, wireless power transmission), CPS (contactless power transmission), and various other abbreviations. Unifying all of these under the single name "contactless power transmission," this paper explains how the technology's history to date and fusion of a wide range of technical areas guarantee that it will contribute to conserving energy, and achieve practical applications.
