The three great Tiantai works of Zhiyi (538-597) consist of recorded notes and edited works made by Guanding (561-632). In the Fahua xuanyi it is possible to see that Guanding added his own thoughts to those of Zhiyi. By comparing the Tiantai Ideas of Zhiyi and Guanding with Jizang, I would like to explain the importance of Guanding's input on the Fahua xuanyi.
