Abstract
In the computer aided facility management systems for electric power equipment, the efficient data management method is required for a large number of graphic objects such as vectors, symbols, text and so on. A new hierarchical data structure called MD-tree is applied to manage the graphic data with spatial distribution in the scheduling and monitoring system of electric power lines. By this method, highly interactive and rapid man-machine interfaces can be developed. Then, installing this method to the EWS without any graphic accelerator, we can get better response performance than that of the conventional high class graphic terminals.
