Abstract
On UHV transmission line, it is known that the secondary arc extinction time after clearing fault arc will be long and there is a possibility of auto-reclosing failure. Connecting shunt reactors with a neutral reactor to the transmission line is one way to reduce the secondary arc extinction time. Double circuit transmission line requires consideration of inter-circuit capacitance as well as inter-phase capacitance, which causes difficulty in configuring optimal shunt reactor. This paper proposes a simple method optimizing the shunt reactors connected to the double circuit transmission line.
