Abstract
Pre-arcing accidents due to the Ag-element detriment in electric power fuses for the 22kV cutout have occurred in the coastal area of Kyushu island. In an attempt to prevent these kinds of pre-arcing accidents, we are developing a current-limiting fuse with stainless steel wires which is in low cost and simple design. It was confirmed that its possesses better similar performance characteristics such as a shorter pre-arcing time satisfied with JIS rules.
