Abstract
We studied how to reduce the flicker of super high pressure mercury lamps for the liquid crystal projectors. We select 6 types of the lamp current wave shape to supply the lamps and examined how it acts on them. As the results, the lamp operation by the standard rectangular wave shape of current causes the lamp flicker however the pulse current on the rectangular wave shape reduces the lamp flicker.
