Abstract
The metal halide lamp with the UV blocking film consists of ZnO that reduce insect attraction, material fading and material discoloration are generally commercialized. We developed the new, transparent high UV blocking film that was able to be cut so far to the long wave length side (about 400 to 425nm) than the UV blocking film consists of ZnO. At blocking 99% of the UVA output, the development film is 400 to 410nm 50% cutting wave length of transmittance and cuts the majority of light of 400nm or less. As a result, metal halide lamps with this transparent high UV blocking film, reduce insect attraction by about 1/4 compared with the high pressure mercury lanp. Moreover, the luminous flux decrease is within 5%.
