Abstract
Concerning the visibility of a string, there is an assessment that background luminance and the size of the string play an important role; nevertheless, we are unaware of research using this insight. In our experiments, we examined the effects of the presentation position of a string in visibility and its age-related changes. A string was presented in different positions of a 58' plasma display, where subjects valuated its visibility quantitatively. As a result, on young people, the nearer the front of the position of a string is, the better the response was. Instead old people saturated from a point.
