After being remodeled, Tokyo Rissho Junior College for Women Library was reopened on November 1, 1991, and JOHOKAN (total communication management package software; Braintech Inc.) was made available. Five personal computers were networked via the Local Area Network System (LAN), and all library work is totally computerized. Two years have passed since installation of the system. We analyzed the effects of introduction of the personal computer network system on student behavior in using the small library of a small junior college with a single department having about 330 users. We compared statistical data on library use before and after introduction of the system.
