抄録
This paper is a report on library use and user education at the Library of Kochi Medical School. The education programs are “Orientation”, “Library Tour”, “Library Guidance”, “Bibliographic Instruction”, “Information Retrieval Training”, and others. Lectures and practical exercises were started in 1999 in the medical course curriculum. They were first provided for 4th year medical students, then for 3rd year nursing students, and lately for freshmen in both courses. The practical exercises include medical literature retrieval training of MEDLINE, Igaku Chuo Zasshi, and electronic journal systems. It is necessary and important to have programs on information literacy education, particularly in medical libraries, now and in the future.
