Kyoto University Medical Library and the Library of Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine concluded an agreement, “The Memorandum on Mutual Cooperation Between Kyoto University Medical Library and the Library of Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, ” in July 2004, to go into effect from August 1, 2004, to provide mutual users with information resources. Functional cooperation has thus begun between libraries with a common theme field enabling cooperation among different organizations. A case report is being conducted on the meaning of cooperate in specific fields, problems arising when a university branch library and a college library cooperate, and examples of cooperation among universities.
