We report on library user services and library use guidance at Kinki University Central Library. Effective use of the library starts with public relations, but a luck of service uniformity made public relations (PR), insufficient at the Library. Motivation among those in charge greatly influences students and teachers in library use guidance. It will be necessary to examine the purpose, content, and methods of library use guidance in a basic colloquium of 1, 500 participants. Improvement is planed based on present information retrieval guidance, library use guidance, use services, and library PR. Kinki University Central Library plans to build up e-learning on its Web site as part of its library use guidance.
