Abstract
This is a first report on the occurrence of Cricula silkmoth, Cricula trifenestrata Helfer, a pest of cinnamon tree (Cinnamomum sp.) from an orchard in Chaiyaphum province, Northeastern Thailand. We examined the external morphology of the moth during its different growth stages, such as fifth instar larvae, pupae, cocoons, besides studying the taxonomic characteristics of male wing venation and genitalia of the specimens. Further studies on various aspects of this wild silkmoth are suggested.
