Oil sand exposed to the atmosphere becomes hard through absorption of moisture and thus causes trouble. This behavior is particularly noticeable in summer time when humidity is high. Green sand mixed with fish oil shows worst keeping quality in this respect. However, if thoroughly dried fish oil can be made to be as easily managed as linseed oil and furthermore even when moisture has been absorbed by the oil sand rejuvenation to some extent is effective. The use of “Ozin” from the standpoint of keeping quality is most undesirable.
