In this report with a view to know the effects of chemical properties of a mold sand binder on the conditions of casting surface. The strength of mold using many kinds of binders in dried condition at elevated temperature were investigated. Then the stability of sand grain on mold surface depending upon a kind of binder were also examined.
From the results obtained, it seems that the less the difference between strength in coagulated and sintered state, and the stronger the stability of sand grain, the better properties the mold sand binders have. (N. T.)
