This paper is a study of arrest efficiency of standard cupola arrester and some trial water spray type cupola arresters. Cupola arresters were set in the cupola (diameter 580 mm, meltig capacity 1.8t/hr) in the foundry. Arrest efficiency was calculated by the following formula
η = W0 / (W)
where W0 : inlet dust volume in arrester
W : arrested dust volume in arrester
The results obtained are summarised as follows :
1) The arrest efficiency of standard cupola arrester was 87% with water volume of 80l/min.
2) The arrest efficincy of trial cupola arresters were 92%.
