抄録
  In the recent production of spheroidal graphite cast iron, an attempt is made to make a perfect ferrite matrix structure in as-cast state in the pursuit of not only better machinability, ductility and impact resistance of the iron also from the necessity of power or energy saving. In response to the manufacture of spheroidal graphite cast iron with higher grade quality, high purity foundry pig iron has been developed and is being put to practical use. Properties of the cast iron melted by preparing the pig iron are superior in terms of graphite spheroidization, matrix ferritization and material toughness. Deficiency in the proof stress and hardness of ferrite cast iron is improved with single addition of nickel, aluminum or titanium and control of manganese content.
