Abstract

With rapid urban economic development and the rollout of China’s two-child and three-child policies, the number of children is projected to rise in the near term. Meanwhile, the supply of urban outdoor activity spaces for children continues to shrink, creating a pressing conflict that requires effective solutions. Taking children’s parks in Linyi City as the research object, this paper constructs a comprehensive landscape evaluation framework. First, an evaluation index system for local children’s parks is established via the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Questionnaires are distributed to professionals, guardians and children to collect multi-stakeholder assessment data. The evaluation results show that the parks obtained an overall medium-level comprehensive score. Among all dimensions, comfort achieved the highest score, whereas safety yielded the lowest. Corresponding multi-dimensional renewal and optimisation strategies are proposed to address existing deficiencies of Linyi’s children’s parks. The evaluation framework and practical insights from this research can provide references for children’s park construction in other regions. The findings also help designers and administrators identify priority elements for subsequent park construction and daily maintenance.
