Abstract
On tuberculosis patients including severe, moderate and slight cases, the eosinophils in the circulating blood were counted and the diurnal fluctuation were studied. The counts were taken 4 times a day and the total examination was 499.
Results were as follows;
1) Number of eosinophils in 1mm3 of blood varied from 0 to 2, 819. Number of cases, whose eosinophils were 70-450 at 6 a. m., were 71.8% of the total cases.
2) Taking the counts at 6 a. m. as the stanlard of diurnal variation of eosinophils, the cases were divided into three types; decreasing type (62 out of 102 cans), increasing type (31 out of 102 cases) and inconstant type (9 out of 102 cases).
3) There was no remarkable difference in the trends of changes of eosinophils counts by time.
4) Those who had more than-40% of changes of eosinophil counts were mostly severe cases.
5) In the severe cases who received chemotherapy and recovered favourably, the number of eosinophils increased and their diurnal change became less than before the treatment.
