Recently, blood pictures relating to the endocrinological functions have been noticed and many interesting observations have been made. The present paper deals with the blood-pictur esof 134 cases of Basedow's disease and their changes after I131 treatment.
1) In cases of hyperthyroidismus, before the oral administration of I131, decrease of neutrophile cells and increase of lymphocytes and monocytes were generally observed. Lymphocyte count showed high values (30% to 50%). In only 3 cases, lymphocyte count was low (20%).
2) After 1131 treatment, leucocyte count decreased by 2 to 4 days and thereafter increased to 8, 000 to 15, 000 in 7 days. Then the leucocyte count decreased gradually to the normal level by 1 month.
Meanwhile, the percentage of lymphocytes was high level. Erythrocytes, thrombocytes and others showed no change.
3) In the cases of good response to I131, the percentages of lymphocytes and monocytes decreased to the normal value.
