T. Lidz who makes an intensive study on the families of schizophrenics, states“A theory of schizophrenia must explain not only the patient's need to abandon reality testing but also his ability to do so”.
Referring to his view point, the writer attempted an approach to the family relationship of schizophrenics, not only from the dynamic, but also from the formative aspect. He supposed that the latter is the study on the formative relation of value and logic system in the family relationship against the former on the emotional relationship.
In this part, the writer studied statistically the parental deprivation of schizophrenics, and found the high-rated parental deprivation (44.2%), especially the parental deprivation (36.2%). The writer predicted the disturbance of the patient's family relationship from these findings, and will take his steps toward the clinical case study.
