Abstract
The deterioration by mixing drugs has been mainly determined by the discoloration of appearance. The deterioration, however, can be presumed even if no discoloration is detected on appearance. Under the circumstance, we tried to determine the deterioration and to elucidate the substance caused by reaction of the ingredients by thin-layer chromatography.
From many injectable preparations, vitamins, sugars, Amino preparations and Polyvinylpyrrolidone were selected as sample drugs for this investiga ion. Each solution was mixed at 50/50 volume ratio and 270 pairs were prepared as test solutions. Thin-layer chromatography was conducte at 10 minutes after each solution was mixed.
It was found from this experiment that some extention of deterioration seemed to be expected by thin-layer chromatography in some cases even if no discoloration can be detected on appearance. Such cases have been studying with other solvents and with other identification methods to know further details.
