Treatment of Muscular Atrophy with Several Hormones

Abstract

The following conclusions were obtained after administration of several hormones on muscular atrophy, particularly progressive muscular dystrophy (P. M. D.).
1) It seems that the affect of administration of anabolic steroids on P. M. D. has a tendency to worse reaction.
2) It seems that Hexesterol has somewhat effect to prevent joint ankylosis of P. M. D.
3) Serum creatine phosphokinase (C. P. K.)was elevated to higher level for several hours and fell down to lower for several days after predonisolone administration.
4) Changes of serum C. P. K. in P. M. D. was also noted after synthetic β^1-24ACTH plain administration.
