Abstract
Urodynamic study was performed in patients with benign prostatic hypertrophy both pre- and postoperatively, to compare the result of the urof lowmetry (UFM) and the urethral pressure profile (UPP). All the parameters of UFM obviously improved postoperatively. As for the result of the UPP, functional urethral length was significantly shortened postoperatively, while the decrease of maximum urethral closure pressure was non-significant. Although the result was non-significant, the benign prostatic hypertrophy may elevate the urethral closure pressure near the external sphincter.
