Abstract
We report a 86-year-old female of myasthenia gravis (MG) with papillary adenocarcinoma of the thyroid and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The combination of MG and Hashimoto's thyroiditis is common, but the combination of MG and thyroid carcinoma is rare. Because of the well-known relationship of MG with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and Hashimoto's thyroiditis with thyroid carcinoma, the combination of MG, Hashimoto's thyroiditis and thyroid carcinoma of this patient may indicate the pathogenetic relation of three disorders.
Tumor around the cavernous sinus detected by CT and MRI of the head could be a metastatic tumor of the thyroid carcinoma. And this patient had a double vision, a defect in the visual field of the bilateral eyes and a visual disturbance of the left eye, but the both pupils were normal. Therefore, it is thought that the sympathetic fiber of the oculomotor nerve have a tolerance to pressure by the cavernous sinus tumor.
