Abstract
We report a case of intussusception in adult due to ileal lipoma diagnosed by colonoscopic examination. A 49-year-old female was referred to our hospital with complaints of lower abdominal pain and bloody stool. An emergency colonoscopy revealed an intussusception due to ileal tumor. Endosonography and abdominal CT suggest a lipoma of the terminal ileum, and histological examination of biopsy specimens confirmed the findings. This case suggest that the colonoscopy would be useful for preoperative diagnosis of intussusception of the terminal ileum.
