One metagenomic cosmid library with an average inserted DNA about 35kb was constructed using the deep-sea sediment sample collected from 5274m Pacific nodule province ES0303 core. The biodiversity survey result showed that majority (60%) of the microbes detected in the library belonged to undetermined microbes and contain abundant unknown novel microbes. Besides the unknown microbes, Gemmatimonadetes, Chloroflexi, Proteobacteria and Planctomycetes were also enclosed. Endocellular and extrocellular crude extract of the cosmid clones were prepared for screening the antibiotics together with anticancer bioactive compounds. Lots of clones were proved to have the abilities of producing bioactive compounds.
