Abstract
[Purpose] To clarify whether an increase in arm swing increases the postural sway of walking. [Subjects and Methods] Twenty-two healthy adults were included. Normal gait ·Walking with shaking arm wide · Walking without arm swinging 3 conditions. After measuring the walking speed and the number of steps, the postural sway / trunk rotation angle of walking was measured with a treadmill. [Results] The postural sway and trunk rotation angle increased when walking with shaking arm wide. [Conclusion] Teaching to swing your arms is effective for improving walking but it can also lead to increased postural disturbance. Therefore, it is necessary to teach size of arm swing without risk of falling.
