Learning effects of dementia education programs in occupational therapy students

Abstract
[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to implement for occupational therapy students and examine the learning effect a one-day dementia education program. [Subjects and Methods] The subjects were those who were able to participate in participate fully in the one-day program and submit assignments among the third-year occupational therapy students attending. The students prepared the first and the final reports for the case study from the dementia education program. These reports were scored by rubric evaluation and the learning effect was examined by comparing them by the statistical method. We also surveyed students' learning satisfaction and participation by questionnaire. [Results] A significant difference was found from the comparison of the initial and the final reports submitted. From the questionnaire, both learning satisfaction and participation were good. [Conclusion] The learning effect in the dementia education program was suggested.
