Abstract

In inkjet printers, misregistration caused by reciprocal scanning of the head causes a great deterioration of graininess, the average image quality of the product was lowered, and it became the biggest factor to increase variations among products. In this research, we aimed to develop a new concept of halftone technology that minimizes graininess degradation due to misregistration. By finding that improving the dispersibility of both the dots formed by the forward scan and the dots formed by the backward scan makes it possible to greatly suppress the graininess deterioration due to misregistration, successfully developed halftone technology with little graininess deterioration and excellent robustness. In addition, it was shown that by improving the dot dispersibility for each head scan, it is possible to reduce bleeding of the ink and suppress bleeding unevenness caused by high speed printing.
