FDM (fused deposition modeling) printers are modeled using thermoplastics. Therefore, the physical properties of curing from the molten state affect the modeled object. This physical property makes FDM printers less accurate and less quality than other methods. Currently used for simple jigs. However, FDM printers are suitable for additive manufacturing, where the right materials are placed in the right places. Proposals for new applications for FDM printers include material composite technology (Bi-Matrix), which applies parallel intersecting structures, roughening technology for cutting, and fiber reinforced plastic technology.
