Abstract

Monolayer organic photoreceptor for positive charging xerography using perylene pigment as a carrier generation materia1,shows different xerographic properties depending on its crystallinity. We investigated various effects of the pigments on the overall photosensitivity of the film by photoinduced discharge of the surface potential applied on the film. Results show that high photosensitivity of the monolayer organic photoreceptor can not be achieved when the film has low electron transport property, even when the charge generation efficiency in the film is high enough. Thus, the photosensitivity of the film which has dispersed perylene pigment in a hole transport matrix, was found to be in close connection with the electron transport property of the film.
