Direct Access to Toner Particle by Pin Electrode

Abstract

Positive charged toner particle for an electrophotography was attracted to the tip of the tungsten pin electrode by an attractive coulomb's force between the toner particle and the pin electrode. The tip of the tungsten pin electrode was sharpened by an electro-chemical etching and closed to the toner particle on the metal electrode. The value of applied voltage to the pin electrode was 12.8 V for attraction of one toner particle from the single toner layer on the metal electrode to the tip of pin electrode. One toner on the tip of the pin electrode can be transferred to the plain paper by the repulsive coulomb's force.
