Abstract
Psychologists and philosophers often indicate “Mind is based on the structure under consciousness” or “We can not recognize mind nor explain it by words.” Modern brain sciences have supported those claims. Non verbal communication is based on unconscious process of sensory information. It is called as intuitive information process or feelings. Recently insular cortex has been studied as a system of sensory information process in which senses of body are treated unconsciously. Sensory-motor area and visual cortex are independent circuits from cognitive systems of sensory information process. These areas always influence to mind (especially emotion) unconsciously. Also they have a role in process of self formulation. Insular cortex is connected to cingulate gyrus and has an important role in emotional experiences. Also it causes autonomic responses unconsciously. In fact, insular cortex, which relates to unconscious process of sensory information, and anterior cingulate cortex, which relates to emotional experiences, are activated in hypnotic states. Moreover, medial prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate cortex, amygdale, and insular cortex are activated in emotional experiences through memory. The author discusses recent results of brain activities.
