Purpose: To report a case of significant improvement of eating disorder without any drugs, but just by multimodal treatment of Chinese Qigong meditation, Bloodletting, and Hypnotherapy. Materials and Methods: a 35 year old, female, has an eating disorder over 21 years because of bullying from surrounding people, run away from home from 14 years old. The main symptoms are fear and guilt of eating, frequently eating alone, eating much more food out of control after returning home from work, and repeat overeating and vomiting. Besides, she has 20 years history of insomnia, left side abdominal dull pain, and difficulty in breathing. No any betterment was obtained even tried various treatments, such as acupuncture, manual therapeautics, massage, hypnotherapy, and meditation. She started to receive multimodal treatment of Qigong meditation, Bloodletting, and Hypnotherapy in our facility from November, 2012. Carry out Qigong meditation exercises firstly 15 minutes and then gradually extended to maximum 150 minutes, guide her enter into the emptiness so-called “Integration of heaven and human, Forget sings and me”. Only the Qigong meditation was used to explore the opportunity of eating disorder. Bloodletting was instructed to take Jing-Well acupoint of the twelve meridians for 2-3 times a week at home. Hypnotherapy was performed about 20 minutes for each time, and gave a hinta suggestion of sound in mind and body. Results: The amount of eating was reduced one third of overeating, and almost all the symptoms were disappeared and improved significantly after nine sessions (three hours per one session) within two-month treatment, except occasional vomiting. Discussion and Conclusion: Based on the Chinese medical theory, the disruption of seven emotional factors such as joy, anger, melancholy, worry, grief, fear, and fright can cause imbalance of Yin/Yang, dysfunction of Qi, Blood, and Zang-Fu organs of the body, hence cause diseases. In addition, the patient mastered Qigong meditation through instructions for five times. This is highly contributed to elimination of mental illness and health promotion. Bloodletting of twelve meridians effectively suppressed abnormal acceleration of the autonomic nervous system as well as somatic nervous system. Health consciousness was highly increased by hypnotherapy. In conclusion, synergistic effects produced by the three multimodal treatments modulated abnormal emotion, recovered Yin-Yang, Qi-Blood, and Zang-Fu function, therefore significantly improved symptoms of eating disorder.
