Abstract
There is a lot of misunderstanding about concept of the unconsciousness and the therapeutic action in psychoanalysis. On the other hand, it is not easy to understand them. Therefor I would like to ascertain some points on the assumption that we will discuss about the contemporary significance of psychoanalysis.
That is to say, I will take about the positioning of psychoanalysis which Sigmund Freud had established in the psychotherapy history, historical background and various criticism of psychoanalysis. For example, the trend of psychoanalytic schools has been influenced by the current of recent EBM (evidence-based medicine). The efficacy of short-term psychotherapy has been shown demonstratively. On the other hand, such the efficacy of long-term psychotherapy as psychoanalysis beginning to be shown recently.
Someone are impatient to such this circumstance. On the other hand, others believe that there is something significant which cannot catch with the evaluation in psychoanalysis.
In addition, another one would rather think that the essentials of psychoanalysis exists there. In the first place, I am incompetent to range extensively over the literature, in perspective, comprehensively and finally organize them. I take up some point at issue by comparing my familiar clinical experiences with material as just one clinician. To develop arguments, I would like to interlace a little spreading argument while referring to some interdisciplinary knowledge. Above all, I would like to emphasize that the argument over the therapeutic effect among other things while standing on some trends related to the theme concerning clinical ethics.
