Abstract

A case study was conducted to explore how to undertake safety training in hospitals. Interviews showed that the hospitals made special efforts by conducting safety training workshops more than once a year and various other workshops. The medical safety management office of hospitals organized the safety training workshops. Inter-departmental committees collaborated on medical safety management and formed inter-departmental collaborations. Coordinating with these committees and disseminating information were found to be the difficulties faced by medical safety management offices. When medical safety managers had dealings with various job roles, they utilized manuals for smooth communication. However, there was little mention of the efforts taken by medical safety managers. It seemed that they were still looking for solutions for collaborating with various job roles.
