Abstract
A cascaded transmission experiment in which a program broadcast via satellite is retransmitted over a CATV transmission path as an MPEG-2 transport stream (TS) signal was carred out. This experiment also includes the first CATV transmission of 525-line progressive scan (525P) images, one of the high quality video formats. This report describes the CS-CATV digital broadcasting system and an experiment of C/N vs. BER.
