Abstract
We developed a measurement system on rain attenuation of satellite broadcasting signals. This system has smaller time resolution than of in previous studies and is composed of a field strength meter, a rain rate meter, data processing units, etc. The experimental measurements has already started using this system which received the signals from terrestrial experimental stations of 21GHz and 12GHz on the earth to obtain the correlation of the rain attenuation of both frequency signals. This system is expected to be utilized in the experiments on 21GHz band satellite broadcasting using COMETS (Communications and Broadcasting Engineering Test Satellite) which will be launched in this summer..
