Abstract
In this paper, a required number of beams to be supplied additional power for 3 assumed 21GHz variable EIRP satellite systems with 4,6,15 beam respectively was examined. Threshold percentage of service outage area and time percentage of service outage were defined as new parameters. In order to simulate the rain attenuation, we use meteorological radar data instead of AMeDAS data that we used before. As a result, in case additional power were supplied up to 2 or 3 beams to each system, a significant improvement of time and spatial percentage of service was obtained. Finally, some examples of the required satellite power of each system were given.
