Criticality Distribution of Hi-Vision Programs

Abstract

To evaluate the picture quality of digital Hi-Vision broadcasting, we study on the relationship between bit-rates and coded picture quality. We have defined the criticality for statistical analysis of the picture quality for Hi-Vision programs and developed the criticality measurement equipment. This paper reports the frequency of the criticality of Hi-Vision programs.
