An Adaptive Warping Prediction Method for Interlaced Images

Abstract

This paper proposes a warping prediction method for field-structured images. The method can be regarded as a kind of adaptive spatiotemporal filters using the preceding two fields and can remarkably decrease blocking-effects. Moreover this paper investigates adaptive selection between the warping prediction and block matching in each block in order to reduce unnatural deformation of textures.
