Abstract
In MC DCT coding such as MPEG-2,a sophisticated quantization scheme is realized considering human visual perception system (HVS). However, this HVS is only for spatial directions and a temporal direction has never been considered. To cope with this problem, we have designed the non linear counter MAXwise quantizer in which noise can be weighted by HVS in a temporal direction.
