A new head-end for CATV system using optical waveguide modulators

Abstract

We developed a new head-end for CATV system. Its receiving equipment consists of only passive devices (including optical waveguide modulators), therefore we needs no power supply to the receiving point. By use of optical fiber this head-end enables non-relay transmission from the receiving equipment to the head-end and is effective in prevention of lightning damages.
