Abstract
Although pulse code modulation (PCM) sound broadcasting employs low-power transmission, it can provide better reception with a small aperture antenna. However, to achieve good quality PCM sound broadcasting, we have to understand more about the relation between bit-error rate and propagation characteristics of signal received from the satellites. In this paper, we will report the relation between propagation characteristics and the bit-error rate of the digital signal from the JCSAT-2 communication satellite using the 12GHz frequency range.
